Music
24 OctoberWent to music today. Kelsey was awake so put her on a mat on the floor by us. She had fun watching all the action going on. She was so cute in her little pick dress with pink pants and her bobux shoes. In the afternoon Jason and I backed Anzac biscuits for Aunty Xanthe arriving tomorrow.
Sitting on the Couch
23 OctoberHad a better night with Kelsey last night. She was back to sleeping in her bassinet. Dropped Jason off at N.Lynne and then went to Botany. I went to have my blood taken for my thyroid test and Kelsey was awake but quietly playing with her fish. Just after the lady had taken my blood Kelsey started crying so I had to pick her up and still press my arm where blood had been taken. As usual as soon as I picked her up she was quite. We then went and did a bit of shopping. I bought some shorts for me and some stretch and grows for Kelsey. We then came home to the grandparents who were cleaning the house. Gamma had hug’s before her nap. Had some mat time did the wobbly woo and she loved it. Fetched Jason and Kelsey got hugs from Nanny Lynne. At home Kelsey was sitting on the lazy boy having her photo taken when Jason came over to sit next to her. He was very good and even played “This little piggy “ with her toes. She was leaning over to him and he even pushed her up. It was so cute to see there interaction.
Lying on Dad
22 OctoberLabour day. Jason started a runny nose today, Oh dear. Spent the day at home. Dad got out the computer for Jason to play on and Kelsey had time lying on dad playing.
Blowing Bubbles
21 OctoberWent to do grocery shopping with Kelsey and Jason it all went well. In the afternoon I took Kelsey, Charlie and Gamma to look at show houses. Kelsey slept most of the time. Her bubble blowing is starting to turn in to raspberries with a bit of a sound now.
In pouch for a walk
20 OctoberKelsey slept from 11:30 to 7:30 Wow. Mom however was up at 6:00 when Jason woke up. Kelsey was up for a while and Jason was running around like a lunatic. Then KC was tired and went to sleep in the bassinet. Played with Jason and we did some baking. When Jason was napping I went out with Kelsey to spotlight to look around. In the afternoon I took the kids to the park. Jason walked back through the long grass. Kelsey was in the pouch, she loves this. KC had a bath before bed. Jason had his bath and asked for “Cowsey” to kiss night night so I had to bring her down on my shoulder for a goodnight kissfrom her brother.
100% Cute Cuddly
19 OctoberKelsey is so cute when asleep and she tries to suck her thumb. Mommy won't let her though. She slept for 2 hrs this morning so Jason and I made a "Night Garden" moblie. Kelsey had some mat time when she awoke and then in the afternoon Gamma and Charlie looked after the kids while I went to work for the afternoon. They we well behaved.
Baby Bean Classes
18 OctoberJason went to Nanny Lynne and I took Kelsey to her fist lessons at Baby Beans. She just loved it. She smiled the whole time doing the wiggley wo and loved the activities she did not moan once. She also had a long sleep afterwards. So we are defiantly going to do a whole term at Baby Beans.
Eating Hippo
17 OctoberKelsey has started to blow bubbles which is very cute but means she has to wear a bib or her clothes get wet. She had a good gnaw on the hippo in the evening.
Found our hands
16 OctoberBatted and held on to the playgym animals with both hands. She has definitely learned that she has a hand she can suck and today also very successfully sucked her thumb. She also grasped her own hands together while sleeping in bassinet. Gamma and Charlie took her for a walk in the pram to feed the Pukekos. Jason very sick. In bed or lying on the couch all day.
Tummy Time
15 OctoberHer cold is a lot better today. It was out early to take Jason to Jumping beans. Kelsey fell asleep in the car but woke up with all the clapping at JB’s. She walked around in Gamma’s arms watching all the kids and her brother running around. Came home and she was hard to settle down for a sleep. I think she slept for 1hrs continuous the whole day, otherwise it was short naps. Got her to take the dummy at one stage and that soothed her for a while. Went to the shops with Jason and Kelsey to do some grocery shopping at about 4pm and Kelsey slept through the lot. Jason was a good boy and helped me carry the bread. Got home and Jason presented with a fever and was desperately wanting his Dad who phoned while we were out to say he would be home late. Kelsey got love and attention from Gamma and Charlie while I hugged the poor boy. He was in bed early tonight. Kelsey slept well in the night.
"Spoiled by Grandma"
14 OctoberSlept well in the night and only got up at 8am. Watched the rugby world cup with Dad. Then had some time on the mat before drifting off to sleep in Gamma’s arms. Took some family photos in the afternoon. Kelsey wore her little outfit from Gamma which says" Spoiled by Grandma". It is so cute.
Guide Garage Sale
13 OctoberWent out early to the Guide Garage sale. Had scones with Judy out in the tents set up. Photo is of Kelsey staring up at the tent roof. Jason was good and had his morning tea with us. Came home for lunch. Went out in the afternoon to work to do the accounts. Kelsey came with and was awake but very good. The folks came with so when I had finished what I needed I took Kelsey for a walk around the store. Then it was off to do grocery shopping before heading home. She was good as gold watching us have dinner. She is doing a lot better and does not sound as chesty.
Holding rattle
12 OctoberTried to put Kelsey in a sleep routine. She did very well. She settled down to sleep and only cried for 2 min in her bassinet. She slept for 2 hrs. Had fun on the playmat and looking at the animal hanging from it. She slept well at the 1pm nap but did wake once. I put a dummy in and she went back to sleep. I left her with the grandparents while I took Jason for a walk to the park. Came home and she was asleep. She was holding on to the colourful teether at dinner and swinging it all around. Went to sleep on my chest in the lounge as we watched a movie on the big screen.
Sick but Happy
11 OctoberKelsey had a bad night last night. Dropped Jason off at Nanny Lynne and went through to the Plaza with Kelsey before taking her to the Dr’s. Saw a different Dr and she said Kelsey might just be an allergic baby and that’s why she is sick so often. She did prescribe some medicine to dry up the phlegm. Her ears and throat were fine. We came home to pick up the grandparents to go looking at cars. Went to a few yards and Kelsey just slept. She woke up and was hungry so we went to the top of Mt Wellington so I could feed her while the folks looked around. Back to the last car lot. The folks went for a drive in a car so I took the opportunity to change Kelsey’s nappy while we were waiting. She lay next to Dog and was smiling away when I took the picture. Came home for the afternoon. Gave Kelsey a nice warm bath. Tried to give her the medicine but 90% came back put. Collected Jason at 4:30. Had some success at getting more medicine down before sleeping.
JC made butterfly at Music
10 OctoberWent to music today. Kelsey slept through the music part but woke up while Jason was making his butterfly. She watched as he coloured it so nicely. He than gave it to her. So sweet. We didn't go to the park after as it was raining so straight in the car and home. Kelsey was having Big talkies with me after supper today. She getting quite vocal these days and has long conversations with you. She is getting a bit chesty and coughing again. Not to well.
Peter Rabbit rattle
9 OctoberLeft Kelsey with the in-laws today while I went to drop Jason off at Lynne. Jason kept saying cowsey, cowsey as he had never been in the car with mom without having his sister next to him. She was well behaved and went to sleep straight after a nappy change. She did not sleep to well last night as the nasty cough and flem are back. She is still very smiley though. She fell asleep on my lap watching TV while I was chating on the phone to a friend.
Found the Peter Rabbit wrist rattle today and put it on the wrist. She liked that. She watched it and sucked on his ears. She is not feeding well but went to sleep in the evening very early. She has slept a lot today now that I think about it.
Me and Beanie
8 OctoberTook the kids to Jumping Beans holiday programme. Kelsey has not been before but I signed her up to do the next term. Jason had a ball climbing over the A frames and bouncing in the castle. Took a photo of Kelsey with Beanie the mascot. Dad came to fetch us. At home JC was asleep and Kelsey had a feed and fell asleep on my chest then I fell asleep. It was great having an afternoon nap. Jason picked Kelsey up a few centimetres off the floor. I had my back turned for a second and he tried to pick her up. He means well and does not understand why he can’t. Shame he really is very good with her. Poor Kelsey has her cough back and has coughed up 2 feeds today.
3 Months today
5 October3 months today. Took Gamma and the kids to the Plaza. Kelsey had a Plunket check. She now weights 5.76 kg and is 58.2cms tall. She is doing well. We walked through the mall and Jason had fun in the Thomas train and Barney car. Went to foodtown for some bread and saw the lady who knitted Kelsey some pink booties. Kelsey was wearing them so it was nice for her to see them on. We then all went over to the art gallery for morning tea. Jason was good and had a fluffy. Kelsey was awake to start but drifted off to sleep while we had our tea. It was then back in the car and home. It was a hot day so Kelsey wore her cute kitty romper for the first time. I took some portraits of her in it.
Kelsey had first time without Mom
4 OctoberWent to work at 1am. Very hard to leave Kelsey for the first time. I did miss her a lot but also enjoyed my time at work. She came down for a feed at 3pm and was quite happy when she arrived she was not screaming for food. She was very well behaved for the Grandparents and so was Jason.
Day out in Auckland
2 OctoberBefore we went out this morning Kelsey was lying on our bed with the leopard Charlie gave her on her chest and she was feeling the fur. She was quite delighted with it all. Dropped Jason off at N. Lynne and then went with Kelsey to the Plaza. Stopped in at work and she gave Alice and Vivian a huge smile. Saw Jason with Lynne and the other kids having his morning tea but did not go over to disturb him. Came home to a clean house as Gamma and Charlie had cleaned while we were out. In the afternoon we went in to Auckland City as Gamma had an interview. We dropped Gamma off found a parking then put Kelsey in the front pouch and hit the main street. She was having such a fun time taking in all the sights and sounds of Queen St. She felt quite special because Jason has never been to Queen st. We met Gamma and then went up “the tower” to get a view of the city. Went to take a photo of Kelsey and the skyline but the camera battery was dead. Anyway had a great time. Home and off to collect JC. Kelsey slept well that night after her long exciting day.
Had visitors
1 OctoberMichelle and Joshua came over for a visit. Kelsey had a hug with Michelle and fell asleep in her arms. I put her down for a nap and the two boys had fun playing together. Kelsey was wearing the little outfit that Michelle gave her. It was nice to catch up with her. Work phoned and asked if I could work on Thursday from 1-6. I said I would call back and let then know. I tried Kelsey on the bottle before saying yes. She did not like the Avent teat but drank 40mls from the medela bottle. So I rang work and agreed to work on Thursday. Kelsey watched Jason and I play on the lounge floor in the afternoon. At dinner time Kelsey was sitting as she always does, in the rocker on the kitchen counter watching us all eating. She was holding on to the comer of her wrap tonight. She is getting good at grabbing things.
