Vaccinations & Xmas lights
19 DecemberTook Jason to Nanny Lynne then off to the Dr's for Kelsey’s 5 month injections. She did not like the Jab but was soon smiling. I spoke to the Nurse and Dr about her not sleeping but the only solution is letting her cry and self settle. She fell asleep in the pram while I went to do a bit of shopping and pop in to work. She stayed asleep while I put her in the car and when we got home I left her sleeping. She had a good 2.5hr nap. Charlie then looked after her while I had a nap. She had fun and enjoyed her time in the excersaucer. Maja and Cecelia popped over before we went to fetch Jason. Kelsey nodded off to sleep in the car. Came home and by 7:30 she was asleep.
We woke Jason up around 8:30 to go and look at the Xmas lights but he just wanted to go back to bed so Dad and Jason stayed home while the rest of us went to look at the houses decorated with lights for Xmas. One house has a Xmas tunnel you can walk through and it has all sorts of Xmas goodies inside from dancing and singing Santa's and reindeer to fiber optic landscapes and ornaments. Just to vast to explain but excellent. Kelsey had her photo taken with the snowman.
Had very little sleep
18 DecemberJason at Nanny Lynne. Kelsey and I did a bit of Xmas shopping before going to coffee group. She was just nodding of to sleep but work up as soon as I stopped the car. She stayed awake the whole time at coffee group watching the older kids. She had fun with some of Liam’s toys. Came home for lunch before a guide meeting at 1pm here. Kelsey did not sleep and was still awake when they came. She only went down at 3pm for 45min. Then it was off to fetch Jason. She was quite happy. Had dinner and she was still wide awake, so I went for a drive to Sylvia Park shopping centre. She slept about 30min then woke up walked around the shops looking at things and the lights as the shopping centre is open till midnight. Came home and she finally went to sleep at around 10:30. She was happy for the most part of the day but can’t believe she can sleep less than 3hrs. from 7am to 10:30pm.
Cornwall Park & One Tree Hill
17 DecemberKelsey slept like a dream today she did a two hr sleep in the morning while Jason and I baked cone cakeies. I went to Jumping Beans to pay for Kelsey for next term and left her with Charlie as she was asleep. I took Jason and he was so cute saying hi Tim and Bye Tim. He wanted to stay for the classes but I said we couldn’t and that we would go and get chippies. Well it was still the breakfast menu so he had a hash brown which we called a breakfast chippie. Got home and Charlie the kids and myself took a drive to Cornwall Park. We took a walk down twin oak drive. It was lovely and shady. Kelsey sat up a bit in her pram to enjoy the view. On the was back we saw big roosters. Jason was scared of the birdies. We then drove to the top of One Tree Hill. Kelsey was asleep so we left her in the car and took a quick look around at the top. Jason had his nicnic (picnic)in the car before heading home for his nap. In the afternoon Kelsey got huggies and kissies from Jason as well as being sat on a few times. Jason got given his new Thomas chair. He loves it. Kelsey had a good 1.5 hr nap in the afternoon and so did Mummy. Battled to get her to sleep that night. Kept waking every few minutes.
Fletcher Xmas party
9 DecemberAfter yesterdays lovely hot weather, today is raining and horrible. Stayed home in the morning but ventured out to the Fletchers Xmas party in the afternoon. It was not to pleasant in the rain. Kelsey was under her raincoat and the only dry one by the end. We did not stay to long. Jason had awesome fun on the jumping castle there. He got soaked from jumping in the rain and sliding on the wet castles. We had to change his clothes while he stood in the boot. We all went to Wendy’s on the way home for burger and chippies. Kelsey was asleep so she lost out. Ha-ha.
First time in the paddling pool
8 DecemberIn the morning Kelsey and I went to fetch Angie and Regan and went for a ride to Browns Bay to go to the craft fair. I wanted a pair of boot planters for Nanny Lynne for Xmas. The kids were good on the way there but neither of them wanted to stay in there prams while we walked around. So we pushed empty prams and had babies on our hips. Started home when both babies started crying so found some shade and gave them a feed. Kelsey was then quiet for a while but started crying and did not stop until I was home. At least 30 min later. She was asleep within 15 min of being home. Go figure, why couldn’t she have just gone to sleep in the car? It was such a hot day that in the afternoon Kelsey had her first go in the paddling pool. She loved it. Even when her brother was splashing the water. She looks so cute with her little hat on.
Visit to Chipmunks
7 DecemberHad a morning at home from hell. Well not quite but it had been hard with two kids crying and Jason wanting attention and just general looking after two kids. Ange ran and we met up at Chipmunks in the afternoon. It was great Jason and Logan went off to play and us adults had a coffee while Kelsey and Regan lay under the play gym in the babies section. It was great. Kelsey had fun looking at new toys and Jason loved going down the big inflatable slide and climbing through the jungle gym
Baby Beans
6 DecemberJason at Nanny Lynne. Kelsey went to Baby beans today. She had fun in the tunnel and with the feathers. Loved watching then getting blown up and floating back down. She is always smiling during the classes. Only one more lesson left for this year. In the afternoon did some Xmas shopping.
Mainly Music Xmas & First Solids
5 DecemberWent along to the Mainly music party today. Jason was being a real pest not wanting to get in the car then not wanting to get out, just having an otherwise morning. Eventually got him to the hall. Not long after Dad arrived and he was much better. Kelsey and I danced to the carols and had a good time. We then all had morning tea. Dad got to meet some of the ladies from music. Kelsey was lying on her mat in her Xmas outfit and got a few comments on her being so cute. We all left the hall together then Dad said by to go back to work. Jason, Kelsey and I went to the playground for a bit before going home. It was a great morning. I gave Kelsey her first taste of solids this evening. She quite enjoyed it although it was a messy affair. She ate plain baby rice.
Now weights 7kg
4 DecemberLeft the house early today to go to Jason’s next step xmas party. He had fun and enjoyed the treasure hunt to find Santa’s elf who gave the kids some chocolates. Kelsey amused herself with a soft spikey ball. In the afternoon I took Kelsey to her 5 mth Plunket visit. She now weighs 7kgs and is growing just fine. She has been a little grizzly today but has not had a temperature like yesterday.
Kelsey and Charlie
3 DecemberKelsey only woke up at 9am. Went to Krystal for coffee group. Jason had fun on Matt’s Thomas the tank engine ride on. Kelsey was awake and smiling. I gave her a feed and she went to sleep. She woke up before we left. Came home and everybody had a nap. Kelsey slept the rest of the afternoon. She woke up around 5pm with a temperature. Gave her some pamol. Every night when Mom and Dad are putting Jason to bed, Kelsey is with the grandparents nad she loves being in the pouch watching TV.
Smiling with the Mooses
2 DecemberPut up the Xmas tree this afternoon. Jason had great fun in helping “throw on the decorations” and then delight in pulling the whole tree over. Kelsey was watching from the couch where she was surrounded by the Xmas soft toys. By the end of the day we had to put all the decorations out of Jason’s reach at the top of the tree.
Santa Parade
1 DecemberDressed Kelsey and Jason in there Xmas outfits and went to the Panmure Santa Parade. Jason was so good and walked to the main road holding Daddy’s hand. Kelsey was in the front pack. It was a hot sunny day. The parade started at 11:30. Jason was a bit overwhelmed by it all I think he does not yet understand about xmas and Santa but we are training him. Kelsey has fun watching all the floats go by. I went to work in the afternoon and left the Kids with Dad and the in-laws. Kelsey was very good
Kelsey and Regan
30 NovemberIn the morning Jason was driving me nuts. Doing everything he shouldn’t and ending up breaking my lamp shade. Kelsey was a good girl and lay on her playmate batting and chewing the toys. Thankfully nap time arrived at 11:30. I got a call from Angie and when Jason woke up we met at Chipmunks kid playground. Jason just loved it and ran around all over and went down the big slide. Kelsey and Regan were in the baby pen together. It was a good bit of time out for me as I did not need to entertain or amuse or play with Jason. Came home had fish and chips for dinner then Jason went to bed and Kelsey had a feed. I was going out to a make up party and the in-laws offered to look after Kelsey. I was there for an hour when I got a call “come home now” Kelsey was just not settling and all had tried to comfort her. I came home collected her and went back with her to the party. She was awake the whole time but went to sleep in the car on the way home.
Tummy swing and rolled over for the first time
29 NovemberTook Jason to Nanny Lynne and stopped there to feed Kelsey before going shopping. Came home and got ready for Baby Beans. We had a new thing today – the tummy swing. Kelsey just loved it. Poking her tongue out and smiling away while swinging around. She was on a mat on her tummy watching the splash mat when all of a sudden she was on her back. Oh My Gosh – Yes she rolled over. She has not done it again today but watch this space. Came home and she had a good 2hr nap. Gave her a feed and a change and went to the post shop on the way to collect Jason. Kelsey and I were going to have a bath together in the big bath but were interrupted by Jason, so all three of us had a bath in the big bath. It was fun.
Sitting on the grass
23 NovemberKelsey had her morning nap so Jason and I backed brownies. He just loves eating the mixture and always say yummy yummy. He then helped me peg out the washing. Kelsey had fun later under the playgym and in the late evening she was out on the grass practicing to sit up.
Fun at Baby Beans
22 NovemberJason at Nanny Lynne. Kelsey and I went to Botany to do shopping. I bought her a lightweight waffle blanket with a sleeping rabbit on it. Then off the Baby Beans. They had a net up today that you could lye baby under and it had ribbon through it. Kelsey loved this and squealed with delight. Sat up only for a few seconds by herself. She is also very good at going backwards down the ramp on her tummy today.
First time in Cot Bassinet and out on the deck
21 November
Early this morning I got the portacot up and put the bassinet part in it for Kelsey as she has outgrown the old bassinet. She had her first sleep in it before we went to music. Jason was shy at music and just wanted to sit on my lap. We left early and went over to the park. Kelsey watched her big brother climbing and swinging. The afternoon was really hot so we went out on to the deck. Kelsey had never sat outside before. She was in her rocker while Jason had great fun with water. Painted her name on the deck.
